Mihu & Yumi to represent India at Youth World Archery Championship
ITANAGAR, Sept 11: Maselo Mihu and Sorang Yumi of Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy, Chimpu and their coach Kh. Ekashini Devi will represent India at Youth World Archery Championship to be held at Wuxi, China from October 13 to 20, 2013. Presently, both the archers and the coach are undergoing training at Pune.
Recently, both the archers have brought laurels to the country and the state by winning silver and bronze medals in the 2nd Asian Grand Prix Archery Tournament, 2013 held at Ullanbaatar, Mongolia under the guidance of Coach Kh. Ekashini Devi.
While expressing her happiness on being selected to represent India as coach in the ensuing championship, Ekashini Devi exuded confidence of a good and improved performance by the archers duo of the state in particular in the coming world championship.
Meanwhile, Asst. ‘Renovate college approach road’
ITANAGAR, Sept 11: The Students’ Union of Government College Yachuli has informed the authorities of the dilapidated condition of the college approach road.
In a release referring to the college road as one of the worst road in the whole state, it said, during rainy season, college remains cut off. The college bus and other vehicles cannot ply as they get stuck in the mud and the students have to push the bus.
We have seen some extreme problems like when someone gets ill and they cannot be taken to hospital on time, it said requesting the concern authority to maintain the road without any delay.
Biometric device and CCTV installed at DC office Yingkiong
YINGKIONG, Sept 11: Biometric Attendance Device and CCTV have been installed at DC's office Yingkiong Upper Siang District and have been functioning effectively since few days for ensuring punctuality of staff.
All branch officers, officers, ministerial staff of the office have been asked to register their names and give their attendance in the biometric machine. An order to this effect has been issued stating that explanations shall be called from offices/staffs who turn up after 9.30 am and leave the office before 4.30 pm and disciplinary action shall be initiated accordingly. NWS mourns death of PI
ITANAGAR, Sept 11: The Nabam Welfare Society (NWS) deeply mourned the demise of one of its senior members and Political Interpreter (PI), ADC Office, Sagalee Nabam Tayum, on September 10 at Naharlagun after a prolonged illness.
Tayum was one of the best arbiters of customary laws of the Nyishi Community and has solved many complicated cases under Sagalee Administrative circle.
“We will surely miss his wisdom and guidance and feels that the vacuum created by him will be difficult to fill,” the Nabam Welfare Society said in a condolence message.
The Society (NWS) conveyed deepest sense of condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
The Hina Nabam Healing Society has also mourned the demise of Hina Nabam Tayum who passed away at 5 am yesterday at Naharlagun.
Late Nabam Tayum was a social worker of Leporiang circle hailing from Sango village. He was born on Feb 2, 1973.
In a release, it said, he was a spiritual person from our society who had a cordial relation with everyone.
Offering condolences to the bereaved family members, it further prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
GSU opposes illegal activities
ITANAGAR, Sept 11: Galo Students’ Union (GSU) in a release appealed to the West Siang district administration to immediately stop the alleged collection of 3.5 percent money from the total compensation amount released for Aalo to Mechukha BRTF road project affected people.
Describing the act of money collection by a committee on behalf of a certain association as illegal, GSU urged the administration to act fast to stop the illegal activity and initiate step to pay back the money collected so.
Meanwhile, GSU informed that one Genga Gamlin, a resident of Laggi Gamlin village under Yomcha circle of West Siang have reportedly drowned in Rimi River on September and his body is still untraceable.

DC visits KGBV school

DLTDC meeting held
DAPORIJO, Sept 11: The District Level Tourism Development Committee (DLTDC) Meeting, Upper Subansiri, was convened under the Chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Tahang Taggu in his office chamber here today.
While presiding over the meeting, he emphasized on the role of tourism in bringing about development and prosperity in an area and said that there was a need to better the tourism infrastructure in the district.
Dikchu Raji, Member Secretary (DLTDC) gave a power point presentation and explained about the scope and prospect of tourism in the area. He also spoke about the USP of the district i.e. adventure tourism and white water sports.
Dr. B. Paul, District Research Officer spoke about tourism in relation with museums and informed about the need to maintain them well so that the tourists as well as the locals had a place to visit if they wanted knowledge on the people, customs and traditions of the local population.

Org calls for creation of unemployment director post

Community College
ITANAGAR, Sept 11: The Community College, an alternative system of education under Ministry of Human Resource Development, has been opened at JN College Pasighat on pilot basis.
Initially, the college has started a six months certificate course in Tourism Management.
The Community College aims to provide job oriented and skill based and life coping education.
The minimum qualification required for the course is Class XII pass, according a release by Principal of JN College, Pasighat.

It must be mentioned that for the first time in 2012 Dengue infection was reported in East Siang, Papum Pare, West Siang & Upper Siang districts wherein about 346 cases were detected positive for Dengue.
It is also observed currently that the Japanese Encephalitis (JE) is being reported from Changlang (with one death) and Tirap districts. Also some suspect cases from Seppa and Daporijo in East Kameng and Upper Subansiri districts are reported.

He said affected cases of Dengue may also go into haemorrhagic complications (DHF) and shock syndrome (DSS). Hence, he stressed that the District Hospitals in the affected areas of Dengue last year including both ASH and GH Pasighat should have the necessary facilities for blood/platelet transfusions for managing the DHF cases.
Dr. Moji Jini, informed the house that the ASH is well prepared for providing blood transfusions whenever needed as there would be enough stock of blood in the hospital citing availability of motivated donors in large numbers. He suggested that the hospitals should earmark beds in the hospitals for managing the Dengue & JE cases.
Rs 62 Cr MGNREGA fundreleased for Arunachal
NEW DELHI, Sept 11: Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh today informed that his Ministry has released Rs. 62.00 crores for implementation of MGNREGA in Arunachal Pradesh. He personally gave the information when Chief Minister Nabam Tuki called on him at his offices here this morning. They also discussed various issues related to IAY, NRLM and PMGSY besides MGNREGA.
Expressing gratitude to the Union Minister, Tuki requested for consideration of remaining 55 schemes under PMGSY pending with the Ministry. Ramesh assured that these schemes meant for new connectivity in the districts of Papum Pare, East Siang, Upper Siang, Kurung Kumey, West Siang and Upper Siang will be favorably considered by his Ministry and advised the State Government to resubmit the same with all required details.
The Chief Minister also briefed the Union Minister on tendering and award of PMGSY works sanctioned by the Ministry under Phase X. Ramesh desired that at least one Central PSU be engaged within the given timeline to increase the observation capacity of the State.

Scrap hydro MoUs or follow guidelines: PPA
ITANAGAR, Sept 11: People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) has demanded the state government to either properly follow the mandatory guidelines while signing MoUs with various power developers for construction of hydel projects, remove all unacceptable terms and conditions in the MoUs or scrap all the MoUs and MoAs.
“If the State Government does not scrap the MoU(s) with power developers or properly follow all mandatory formalities and remove all other unacceptable terms and conditions in the clauses of the MoU(s), PPA will lunch statewide democratic movement,” the party threatened in a release.
Claiming that most of the MoUs have been signed without following the mandatory formalities, like prior information and consent of the project affected people, PPA said without elaborating that some of the clauses in the MoUs are totally unacceptable.
The ruling Congress government in the state is acting more like a representative of power developers than its own people, the PPA said. “It seems the Chief Minister is not having interest on survival of people of Arunachal for sake of power requirement of the whole country,” the party said while reacting to the chief minister’s urge for speedy forest and environment clearance of hydro projects in Arunachal Pradesh.

Waiting for justice

This is with reference to the news item published in your daily about 3 linemen who got seriously injured when they came in touch with live wire while on duty. The three were namely Mr. Ngurang Tarriang & Mr. Nabam, Agung who is going under treatment at GNRC, Dispur Guwahati and Mr. Nabam Takang who is undergoing treatment at RKMH respectively till date. We appreciate the concern department for bearing the medical expenses. Power (Electrical) Minister Tanga Byaling who visited all the three casual linemen at RKM Hospital on 2nd August 2013 had enquired about their health condition & informed that he has directed the concerned authority to constitute an enquiry committee to probe the Bassarnallo incident and submit the report within a week.
The minister also assured that anyone found guilty will be punished after the final outcome of the enquiry report, but still there is no any outcome from the concern authority/ enquiry committee even after passing of 26 days. We have only been given assurance till date.
Therefore we the wives of these three victims would like to request the concerned authority / enquiry committee to give concrete report of the Bassarnallo incident as soon as possible. The condition of our husband is not showing any improvement and doctor's say that healing will take time. But we want justification. Who is responsible for such pathetic condition of our husband? We depend on our husband for livelihood and are facing tough time due to poor health condition of our husband. In the future even if they are cured, they will be same like before, so we would like to ask the concerned authority and state government to regularize services of three victims.

Please renovate capital road
Dear Editor,
The Arunachal Times has given a good platform for the citizen where they can express their freedom of speech and expression envisaged by the Indian constitution. I also got tempted to write down some of the public grievances for perusal of concerned authorities. As a matter of fact, the roads of Arunachal need immediate renovation.
Although crores of rupees were sanction by the government for construction and renovation of the road which hit daily news headline like a sense of relief to the aggrieved citizen but practically ground situation has not changed. Roads are filled with pothole and bumpy ride awaits the visitor. But person driving in SUVs with a tainted glass do not feel the bad road condition. The common people who travel in tempo or trackers and jump with every acceleration hurting his head or bump feel the real pain.
So it's my heartiest request to the concerned authorities to kindly renovate the road on permanent basis instead of filling it with sand or soil on temporary basis, as it will become worst during rainy season.

Dear Editor,
Recently we had a meeting at DRDA conference hall Yupia, whereby our local legislator-
It was an important meeting for villagers of TIGDO & Yupia villages (land donors)
as all Heads of Department, Panchayat leaders and land donors-
Yupia district head quarters were established in the year 1992 and lot of local legislators and DCs has come and gone from Yupia. Many memorandums has been submitted to previous MLAs and DCs placing demands and grievances of land donors but nothing concrete took place till date. After gap of so many years this meeting between HODs and land donors was held. Credit for the initiative goes to local MLA and DC Yupia.
During discussion our local legislator and DC Papum Pare assure to solve the problems

Land Donors of Capital should wake up from deep slumber
Dear Editor,
I would like to share the sentiment of Boken Kino who wrote about need to respect the sentiment of land donor's who gave land free of cost for establishing capital in Itanagar years ago. His view on illegal encroachment of Govt, land in the state capital complex is positive. Also the suggestion given by president, AAPSU during the meeting with capital complex land affected people's forum (CCLAPF) is unfounded. His suggestion will harm the interest of state.

Sadly, state Govt, and the students of the state is hand in globe for tenaciously indulging illegality by encroaching upon the govt, land in the state capital complex. The land donor has been marginalized in the socio economic and political development of the state capital. State capital has become breeding ground for criminal and illegalities of all form.
The local citizen of state capital complex, who donated the land, has right to protect, preserve our land and forest. It is our birth right; no one can deny it. Request all the land donor of the capital complex to rise and awake from the deep slumber.

youth during the 12th five year plan. Accordingly as a step towards making the vision
comes true, it had provided job opportunities to about 17,000 youths in 2012-
According to information received main objective of the mela was to sensitize the youths about the job opportunities available within and outside Arunachal Pradesh, select the youths for vocational training for a period of 3 to six months or one year.After successful completion of training, they will be provided certificates empowering them to get employment.Nearly 30 vocational training provides/ reputed private institutes/agencies took part in the mela to make the unemployed youths of the state aware of job opportunities and the need of skill development. This kind of rally will be held at regular intervals.
Though the critics have its say, the three days event was an eye opener for lakhs
of unemployed youths of the state. More than 14, 000 youth across the state thronged
to the I G Park during three days of Mela. And for the rest of unemployed youths
in lakhs it carried out a message for them that time has come to be partner of development
in real sense and to think big to become job givers/self-
